A EUSFLAT General Assembly was held on the occasion of the 13th International Conference on Information Processing and Management of Uncertainty in Knowledge-Based Systems (IPMU 2010) in Dortmund, Germany, on June 29, 2010. A detailed report has been sent out to members.

Francesc Esteva was proposed as the first Honorary Member of EUSFLAT for his outstanding achievements in research and for his activities to advance the society. The proposal was approved by the general assembly on July 21, 2009.

We are proud to announce that our efforts to include the Proceedings of the 5th EUSFLAT Conference (Ostrava, Czech Republic, September 11-14, 2007) into the Thomson Reuters Conference Proceedings Citation Index were finally successful. This particularly means that all papers published in these proceedings are now visible in the ISI Web of Science®. We hope we will manage to include the proceedings of all further editions of our EUSFLAT conference into this index - which strongly upvalues our conferences and the papers published in their proceedings.

As usual, EUSFLAT awards ten student grants for its biannual EUSFLAT Conference (Ostrava, Czech Republic, September 11-14, 2007). Additionally, five grants will be available for the 4th International Summer School on Aggregation Operators (Ghent, Belgium,
July 9-14, 2007) and three grants are planned for

We are proud to announce that our renowned member, Prof. Janusz Kacprzyk, has been awarded with the 6th Kaufmann Prize Gold Medal for Research into Fuzzy Management and Economy. The price is awarded by FEGI - the Fuzzy Management Research Foundation (Fundació per a l'Estudi de la Gestió en la Incertesa) and SIGEF - the International Association for Fuzzy Set Management and Economy (Sociedad Internacional de Gestión y Economia Fuzzy). The ceremony will take place in November 2006 in Reus, Spain. We cordially congratulate!
EUSFLAT is glad to announce a new working group, the EUSFLAT Working Group on Soft Computing in Image Processing (SCIP). The SCIP Working Group has been highly active in its field since 2002 and integrates over 100 members from all over the world. The group is coordinated by Mike Nachtegael, Dietrich Van der Weken, and Etienne E. Kerre, all three from Ghent University, Belgium. Now the group has applied for the status of a EUSFLAT Working Group. On the occasion of the EUSFLAT General Assembly held July 4, 2006, in Paris, SCIP was approved unanimously as a EUSFLAT Working Group. The EUSFLAT society welcomes the new working group and encourages members that are interested in the topics relevant to SCIP to join this working group!
We would like to announce that the EUSFLAT homepage has been moved to the Web server of the Institute of Bioinformatics at Johannes Kepler University, Linz, Austria. The EUSFLAT society thanks this institute for hosting our Web page and we also thank Software Competence Center Hagenberg GmbH, Hagenberg, Austria, for hosting the EUSFLAT homepage for more than four years!
Due to severe technical problems caused by a move of DNS servers, the EUSFLAT homepage was off-line for approximately two weeks, most likely between July 6, 2006 and July 21, 2006. We apologize for all inconveniences caused by this breakdown!
